About

Fairhaven is home to Keith and Liz Pritchard and daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Richard Batley. It's our 'escape to the country.'

We hope that we have the chance to welcome you to Fairhaven; we fell in love with the house within minutes of arriving and knew we should make it our home... a place for guests to relax... get away from it all... and enjoy it with us.

All the guest accommodation is at the front of the house, with uninterrupted views of the moor and wooded valley. The 'artwork' through the window frames is better than anything we could find painted or drawn!

Goathland village has several eateries... the Mallyan Spout serves lunches, afternoon teas and bar meals and has an a la carte restaurant; the Inn on the Moor and the Goathland Hotel serve lunch and evening meals and the Tea Room and Coffee Shop cater for those with a sweet tooth. Goathland has a Post Office, gift shops, monthly craft fairs in the Village Hall and the village railway station hosts the ever-popular North York Moors Railway. Local walking is extensive and stunning and the railway and Coastliner bus mean you can always get a lift back if your itinerary proves tougher than your walking legs!

Grosmont Jazz Café and Art Gallery is just minutes a way by car or a lovely walk on the old rail trail, Whitby and its abundance of shops, activities and eateries is just nine miles away and Pickering is fourteen miles back inland: you need to stay with us for weeks to fully explore the walks, scenery, railway, moors and coast, never mind all our recommendations for places to eat!

So please... come and join us... if only to sample a homemade treat and a pot of tea or coffee awaiting your arrival. (Grandma's scones and cakes are slowly becoming legendary - Kelly.)
